The war against the bloat of modern internet

Once the internet was a magical place, everyone had its own little spot on it and shared things they knew to other people who did the same, internet was magic.
However, in 2021 the web is more of a corporate world, it is dominated by tech giants, such as Google, Facebook, Apple and Amazon (the Big Tech), who monopolize the industry and track people even when you are not using their services, but that's another topic.
You can notice how much the web got heavier going through archive.org and checking how much websites used to weight and compare to today's version, let's take Youtube for example:

Youtube in 2008 Youtube weight in 2008 heaviest file in the server so far Youtube weight nowadays

Notice there's a blatant difference from less than 1mb (2008) to 13mb (2021), with the most recent one having ads 5x bigger than the videos, whose are already big enough too. (for those who like the 2008 layout you could use vidlii.com, which uses it, even though it weights aproximately double it actually did back then, it's still WAY less than what youtube does nowadays)
But XM, is there a way to stop this?
Well... Sadly you can't stop most people from using it, as most normies love this "sleek and modern" design big tech uses, and people will try to imitate what is "hip and trendy" for people to click on their stuff. But you can change this very easily, by making your own site with your own stuff. You could do one about cooking, video games, independent news, you choose it, try to make it fun, not commercial, it may look silly at first, but it's just so fun having your own piece of the internet and designing it the way YOU want, not how big tech likes it, be creative, be silly, it's fun making silly websites about your interests, free yourself from just looking social media and getting angry, the web is supposed to be the opposite of that, oh and always remember, less weight = more people being able to see your stuff, so try to not exaggerate too much with the gifs, lol. (i hope my article wasn't that bad)
